De.li.cious!!

Got my joule today and luckily I saved up one of those crowd cow NY steaks just for this occasion. Since the steaks came vacuum sealed, I just put the entire thing in a pot of water, and let it cook at 129 degrees for 1.5 hrs (per the visual doneness on the Joule app). The result was phenomenal! Totally worth the 10 month wait in my opinion :-)....

That looks great man! Got mine the other day and thought I had one more prime ny in the freezer but I was wrong Doh! Guess it's a Costco run.

I don't work for them (i swear!) but Crowdcow is the only place where I could find grass fed and dry aged beef in my neck of the wood. It's worth checking out!

Looks great. Glad to see the advertised results are achievable by us mere mortals. I've been holding on to some beef short ribs for when my Joule arrives.

Dan, did you dump crow cow's package directly into the water? Or did you thaw it and put in a ziploc?
I'm not sure about the plastic they use. I assume it's good to go though.

I dropped it into the water frozen. Crowd Cow stated on their website that their steaks are vacuum-sealed in sous vide-ready pouches. While I didn't ask about the type of plastic bags they use, it has similar consistency to typical sous vide bags I've seen in the past.
