The recipe suggests 20 minutes on the sausage, but they were still fairly raw. The app suggests instead that it should be 45 minutes to an hour, which seems likely to be more accurate?
I think they are assuming that the Sausages get cooked mostly through during the sear. I would cook in a pan for like 5 minutes a side then sous vide for 20 minutes and see where that gets you. You can always pop them under the broiler if they need more time at the end.
