Go to the Recipe: Apple Cranberry Galette
If you are going to use items like tomatoes and mushrooms, I would recommend cooking them first, oven dry the tomatoes, and give the mushrooms a roast or sauté,
Anyone have any tips on savory galette? I'm afraid of the moisture of tomatoes and mushrooms even if I egg wash the "inside".
Alas, I was hoping for a video of folding instructions. When I created "small flaps" it looked like Shelock Holmes' hat.
Oh for sure!
Can you use puff pastry instead of pie dough and follow the same directions?
We used Granny Smith and Jonagold apples.
What kind of apples do you recommend. The peels look like Granny Smith but most recipes call for a mix.
That’s what I thought, thanks for the fast reply! Keep up the delicious work 👊🏽
Great success! Using frozen cranberries is just fine. Other frozen items will be extra juicy so you can use sparingly. You may also add a little extra flour or cornstarch to help absorb the juice.
Huge success ! And the crust was so flaky someone thought it was puff pastry.
Berries are very expensive where I live(except cranberries a pound is 5$), do you think there’s a downside for using frozen berries/mix bags of making other variations of toppings? Thanks.
Think I've fixed it.
Step 3 still shows as 'assemble the galette' and step 4 as 'roll out the pie dough' for me. Maybe someone forgot to hit publish after you fixed it?
Yup, you’re right. It’s correct now.
Looks like steps 3 and 4 are the wrong way around?
