So many, hard to chose; Frankie&Johnny's for shrimp pie, and Cochon's for pork goodness come to mind. Tons more that I could probably remember if I wasn't drinking wine and watching the world series...

Cafe Du Monde for coffee and beignets! No better way to sober up.

Yep yep yep! Don't let the long lines scare you either. They move fast!

Mr. B's (Royal Street) is pretty darn good. NOLA's (one of the original Emeril's restaurants) is another you might try. It's located in the Quarter on St. Louis. I've not been but I've heard if you're an oyster guy, Acme Oyster (on Iberville) is excellent. Like Matt said, there are so many good places!
Where ever you go....have fun and congrats on your upcoming nuptials!!

Isn't the Commanders Palace one of those places where it'd be cool to say; Yep, been there!

Exactly right! Been around about 135 years, give or take. Reservations required and they actually have a dress code. This ain't your shorts and flip flop place! The Brennan family owns it now (they also own and operate Mr. B's that I suggested below). It's definitely a classic and not to be passed over if you can help yourself!

GW Fins for some of the best seafood I've enjoyed on my travels around the world. Reservations are necessary for typical dining times.

Thanks for all the great Recs. Cochon and Commanders were both on my list. Has anyone tried August?

IMHO, you haven't been to NOLA if you don't get a muffuletta and a shrimp or oyster poor boy.

And a Hurricane (or two) at Pat O'Brien's!! More than two and you are on your own....yikes!

Haven't been myself but I'm going there on my next trip. John Besh ain't bad in my book. It's on Tchoupitoulas, a few blocks from Emerils, where I have been several times. It was excellent but note I haven't been there in a few years but still it gets great reviews. All these restaurants are within a couple blocks of each other in the Warehouse district. You could restaurant hop!
