We liked the recipe made it in the Breville Smart Oven per the recipe; tasted great but it created so much smoke. Is it possible to make using a griddle on the BBQ?
To amp up any store-bought tonkatsu sauce (and my favorite is still Bulldog), grind some toasted sesame seeds in a suribachi (the rippled/ridged mortar and pestle) or give a quick pulse in a food processor until most of the seeds are broken and mix into the sauce -- I like roughly half and half by volume.
