Surprised you didn’t recommend Chris Young’s new thermometer!
My thoughts exactly! Seemed like the perfect place to plug that item, especially since it's pretty cool in its own regard.
Is there a reason for recommending Crisp Coat rather than Trisol? As far as I can tell they have similar use cases (perhaps I'm wrong)?
I'm curious mostly because I got a big bag of Trisol after coming across the Extra Crispy KFC-Style Fried Turkey recipe. Love the stuff!
I actually contacted Thermoworks about the exact thermometer shown above. I was inquiring about any upcoming holiday discounts that may apply prior to my purchase. The lady responded “why do you want that thermometer?”. 🧐
They actually just had a sale on it right before Thanksgiving.
I've got a beta unit right now (although they haven't enabled the predictive capabilities or the app yet).
Initial thoughts on it? I'm kind of wondering how it compares to Meater as well and whether it's worth dropping the dollars to make the switch over (I already have two of those and they work great).
_D_id you ever get an answer to this or experimented on your own?
Unfortunately not. I currently don't have any Crisp Coat since I'm not sure if I really need it or not.
