Go to the Recipe: Ultimate Instant Ramen
The "Ultimate Ramen Eggs" is not working.
Looking into it now.
Wouldn't get geofun and tare be able to keep for as long as the closest expire date on the individual ingredient?
I would suspect each of these to last much (much) longer than a month...
They "last" longer than that in that they'd be safe to consume, but they lose some of their oomph.
That is creative. I actually love making Sho's Chicken Paitan broth for my Ramen.
@Kyl Haselbauer is it possible that this should have been "Cured Ramen Eggs (Ajitsuke Tamago), for garnish, optional"? this is mentioned in the ingredients list, but nowhere else in the recipe, and the only mention of the "Ultimate Ramen Eggs" is in step 5.
Looks like we updated to the cured ramen eggs and forgot to update the one in step 5.
By grinding everything, you’re also introducing a ton of surface area. In the same way that whole bean coffee lasts longer than ground, this will shorten the useable shelf life (so to speak).
If I took more than 20 seconds to think about this, I feel I would have come to this conclusion as well... though sometimes my lazy degenerate side types before I do. Thanks for the response(s) !
I did a full chefsteps thanksgiving this year and used those various recipes to create a Thanksgiving leftovers ramen. I used a slice of sous vide turkey breast for the chashu, turkey bouillon cubes for the broth and holiday oil in place of the lard. So good! Full disclosure I did omit the gyofun because I didn’t have those ingredients on hand as well as the sesame oil because I wasn’t certain how that would pair with the flavors in the oil.
