Thanks for this, I always have to search the internet for a calculator since I'm not smart enough to bookmark one.
How should i decode 106P1260
OK It looks like the fields are reversed. 106 is the Pack Day and 1260 is the Plant Code.
Is there an APP I can put on my phone to use in the grocery store?
Interesting but I question whether all producers follow this rule. I have a carton with a pack day of 096 (Apr 6) but the carton has a "use by" date of May 20. 44 days after pack date. So if one were to follow logic and believe May 20 is 30 days out (max) and then goes another week or 2 (and that is what I usually do) based on USDA rules I'm now using eggs that are as much as 60 days out from pack date. Is that violating USDA rules? Rules are rules right?...or not. Another useless government rule I suppose. Maybe "use by" is the get out of jail free card as that date would actually be about right in real life.
The decoder no longer works. Are you no longer supporting this?
What is the "P4"?
