Go to the Recipe: New England–Style Greek Pizza
My Man.
(Although I never touch the stuff lol.)
Thanks for this recipe! We recently left New England (for the West coast) and sometimes miss our guilty pleasure of Greek pizza houses. I think that there may also be a relationship to this style of pizza with the personal pizzas sold in the New Jersey/NY metro area, most 'famously' by Singa's Famous Pizza.
What we really need is a good Massachusetts South Shore bar pie recipe.
honestly i think you could adapt this dough to a 10" pan, use just mozz, and get pretty similar results, just top with bacon and pickles!
I went to school in Boston (a long time ago) and I remember a Greek pizza place called Four Brothers. They made an incredible feta pizza that likely represented 50% of what I ate back then. So good. I didn't realize that Greek pizza shops were a Massachusetts/New Hampshire phenomenon, but I cannot wait to try this recipe—and maybe with feta!
You were never a bells pizza fan in East Lansing? (I saw your post about the Sicilian pizza haha)
Where’s everyone’s favorite “House of” pizza in New England? Every town’s got one…
This indeed is the type of pizza that first appeared in Greece during the late 60s I guess from emigrants that came back to Greece from the US 🇺🇲 and Canada 🍁. Nowadays, in modern Greece it's considered very dated but still has some nostalgic fans.
