Go to the Recipe: Precision Boeuf Bourguignon
Very good. Lots of steps and lots of pans, could certainly be simplified Also thought 3 bouillon cubes was too much and made the broth too strong. Next time I'll use two.
This was awesome! I followed directions except had to use better than bouillon 1 Kg to 4 tsp. I have made CS bouillon before but was out of it. Also great!
Hm... the step videos look to be lined up with the correct recipe steps. Are you still having trouble with them?
There's an issue with the videos on this page, Step 1 has the video for Step 3, Step 2 has the video for Step 4 and so-on.
Has anyone tried this recipe other than Adam? Comments on how it turned out?
Also - just got a CF Home, and want to try this, but not sure I want to do the step to make the Ultimate Bouillon cubes. What I normally use for bouillon is the "Better than Bouillon" products, and usually have the different varieties, including the roasted beef version, at hand. Can you recommend how much of this I should substitute, and perhaps comment on how much this would change the result? I'm sure it won't be as good, and perhaps I'm committing sacrilege by suggesting the sub on the ChefSteps site :-). But, if I can get a 90% result in 3+ hours (vs. the many hours of the traditional method) I'd be happy with that for a first try.
it tasted like braised beef stew. I think the traditional wine braise is more rich.
This looks really good! I'm afraid the vegetables might lose all their crunch with the 3-hour version. I'll add them somewhere halfway through cooking.
So excited about the new Control Freak. I love the original CF, have had it for years now, but this new version means tons more ChefSteps coverage. Bravo!
Ummm, new version of the Control Freak coming? Please tell more 😁
