Go to the Recipe: Tartar Sauce
I love your site and your recipes, but wow, your print option is the worst I've ever seen You guys really need to design a completely new printing format ASAP, something completely different from the screen view, much more condensed. This tartar sauce recipe should print as half a page, not three pages. It's wastes paper, looks quite ugly, and is difficult to read.
Hey Ryan, thanks for the feedback. We know, it's bad. I've designed a one-sheet format, and we're working hard to get it implemented and will do so soon. Thanks for bearing with us in the meantime.
No problem, just glad you're aware and are working on it! Keep up the good work.
are these recipes staying up, going in a book, app etc, etc?
They'll be staying up. Books, apps, and other such things are possible things we'll do in the future, but for now we're focused on creating a great community that shares our interest in being open and collaborative around innovation in the kitchen.
An extremely delicious variation. I've substituted Kewpie for Mayo No. 4 with great results, if only a little less viscous.
Hi, I'm from Scotland, and we always put capers in our tartar sauce. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but i will. Im just curious why you didn't add capers? And have you tried capers in tartar sauce? Thanx. I love your site btw, i've bought quite a few courses and I'm very impressed, i come back time and time again, i love you guys.
I'm danish and my comments are identical; love the site, love the recipes but would add capers to a tartar sauce
Two years later and the print formatting is still awful!
Shelf life in fridge?
Umm .. combine aioli!? etc.... in a bowl. Sorry but I gotta be the aioli police 👮!
Other than that, I'll be giving this a shot!
Nice to join here...I commis at italian resto in indonesia...for improve my cuisine knowladge
You guys offer some good stuff for our annual fees, but frankly you are full of yourselves and do not follow through on improvements you claim to be committed to. E.g., the print format for recipes is sill bloated and very awkward. Years go by, not simply weeks or months. I'm not going to resubscribe.
Having us measure out 0.25 grams or even 1 gram isn't exactly fair, y'all.
Most of us aren't rocking super precise chemistry lab gear at home.
Agreed. 1/2 tsp of kosher salt is 2 g for reference.
Thank you. This will be extremely helpful.
@Scott Sandifer @nobody you can buy a scale that measures to the thousandths of a gram for about 10 USD on Amazon. Not that difficult.
