What are the tiny bowls used on the scale around 0:20? I've had a devil of a time finding a set for myself. Asking for tiny metal bowls only gets me cock-eyed looks.
I believe we purchased these as IKEA
Given that alginate with might gel and clog up my pipes if I try pouring it down the sink... how do most people discard their alginate-containing spherification baths?
If i don't have distilled water, can i use normal water?

If you use tap water there might be a chance of it containing calcium ions. In the first paragraph it says to mix with water that contains little to no dissolved calcium. The alginate would instantly react with those and render your efforts useless. Its best to use distilled.

What spherification method does everyone find to be the most consistent in relation to its complexity? I realise none of the methods are really complicated but I feel it would be interesting to get your thoughts?

Frozen reverse spherification works best but high alcohol content won't let them freeze well. Alternatively, make your spheres and then store them in an alcohol solution (add alcohol to your base solution) and the alcohol enters your spheres by osmosis. I used this method to add gin to violet lemon spheres for a spherified "Aviation" cocktail.
