Centrifuge Recommendations.
omgitsjulian
Has anyone put together a list of viable (old and or new) Centrifuges that are applicable for the home kitchen? This is the next thing on my list and im a bit overwhelmed with potential candidates.

Unfortunately, the capacity is tiny.

I too am looking at centrifuge for use in the home (although my home kitchen has enough shinny toys to fit out a medium sized restaurant).
I see that ChefSteps links to the
Thermo Scientific Heraeus Multifuge X1 Centrifuges, 120V (~$6k with tax, 1.6 litre, 15k RPM).
@Apatin42
has the
Beckman TJ6 and TJR centrifuges (~$2k, 2.0 litre, 5.7k RPM).
Does anyone have any experience and/or recommendations for centrifuges in the <$5k; $5k-$10k, and $10k+ brackets?
What are the minimum G's you want to make the centrifuge worth it for separating the maximum number of products in the kitchen?

@DiggingDogFarm-
I purchased that one and it does yield a very, very small amount of product, even less depending on what your are doing. Overall I have been very happy with it, but then again I am only using it for the wife and myself. Some items I would have loved to have one with bigger buckets but I would also love to have a Rational Combi, PacoJet etc. in house....

The Beckman tj6 (along with the tjr- refrigeration unit) has a large foot print. So for home, if you have the space I would recommend it due to the large volume capacity it can spin. At the end of the day if you are going to buy a centrifuge, look for larger units that can handle larger rotors. If you are going to go through the work to spin anything in a centrifuge you want to yield more than just a taste.

I got a very good price for an unrefrigerated Beckmann TJ-6 and I'm very happy with it.I will take large capacity over high g anytime. It's quite a large/heavy machine. About two foot square and a foot high needing extra space over it to open the cover. It can be moved by a single person but it's difficult. (It must weight around 80#)

Was just hunting around today for one of these. I need a fairly large capacity.
