Dorkfood DSV and Ranco ETC.....

Does anyone happen to know if there's a major difference between the Dorkfood DSV and the Ranco ETC?

I've had a couple Ranco's for a few years to control curing/fermenting chambers and the like.

The Dorkfood and Ranco housings appear to be identical and I'm wondering if the electronics are as well.

I want to set up a cheap rig to sous vide veg so I'm curious if there are real advantages to the Dorkfood over the Ranco or if they're essentially the same thing.

I asked Dorkfood about it and didn't get a conclusive answer, not that I was really expecting one.

@Dorkfood Other than the cord, how is the DSV different than the Ranco ETC?

@DiggingDogFarm good question! Our DSV also has a recursive algorithm that "learns" so it's highly accurate.

The Ranco manual mentions that it's micro processor based but nothing more specific.

I forgot to mention, the Ranco is half the price ~$50 but requires wiring of a cord, but that's not big deal.

I have the Dork Food and it does the job well but a lot depends on your setup. Did you end up buying either?
