Are you managing your recipes in Excel or Word?

Hi, Our restaurant manager has just banned us from having Recipes on Spreadsheets, she wants them on a system so she has access to them. So we have just signed up to this software app for next year. www.recipe-software.com There is a video demo of the system here:

it looks really cool, so maybe this will be a good thing, as I am just so used to my Excel

How does your excel system differ from the software?

As a software developer this type of application is pretty simple. It seems to be just a web interface to a database. (Nothing wrong with that.)

I've used MasterCook since it was a Sierra product written in Visual Basic.

It's a pretty decent online product now, as JasonWirth mentions mostly a web interface to a DB, but it makes it easy to share. And the mobile app comes in handy when I'm out shopping and "what did I need for that sauce recipe?" The only downside is that their support is practically nonexistent and the site sometimes lags beyond belief.
