Does anybody have ideas or even plans for a small DIY greenhouse that could be used throughout cold new england winters?
Depending on the scale you need, a coldframe might fit the bill. You could add protection with a row cover like Agribond, too. Most greens are much more cold hardy than other veg.

If you have a south facing windowsill without a draft, just put them there. I use my windowsill in spring to start off my tomatoes and it works brilliantly.
A good starter book is, Microgreens: A Guide To Growing Nutrient-Packed Greens by Eric Franks and, Jasmine Richardson
Is there anyway to grow microgreens In your home?
Yes. The same methods used to start seedlings for transplanting indoors will work to grow microgreens for harvesting. Most libraries should have a selection of books on indoor gardening to get you started, if the information presented here by Chef Steps isn't enough. Also check out hydroponics.
The seeds used are types specifically for microgreens or just regulars and we snap the greens when they are babies?
