This is beautiful, innovative, and inspiring. But what I love most, with this documentary especially, is that you connect with the community emotionally. Documenting information, knowledge, and experience is great, but if there is no emotion, if there is no love, what's the point, especially when we're talking about food. ChefSteps sparks a desire in individuals to cook intellectually and create memorable moments with food and people. That's why I love ChefSteps. Kudos.
Looking great!
I clicked, I watched, I loved!!!
Promoting new ideas, learning and experimentation by providing inspiration, a great concept and something that has been beautifully executed!!
Kudos for the doco, it does a great job at promoting your brand and ethos. It carries a great tone throughout, isn't drawn out, conveys your message perfectly and holy crap Grant actually speaks!!!!
I will be sharing to the masses upon its release.
My only criticism.... Being in Australia these cookouts / feasts are inaccessible to me :P
Hope the launch of the doco achieves what you hope it will, keep up the great work.

Truly impressed with the video!! I am glad that I am a member of this great place called ChefSteps!! You guys ROCK!!
Spectacular. There is a moment when Chris is lighting the fire. Slo-mo shot, facing the barrels, his back to camera..... in MYLAR. That moment encapsulates everything that is good and great about ChefSteps. Because sometimes the best way to cook 3 whole pigs means you need to don a flame-retardant Mylar suit.
Impressive!
i agree with all the people commented so far, but i would like to give credit where credit is due. the video and music quality is out of this world. the cinematography and music in this video is fucking awesome. i would love to see more documentaries like this.(you could do about how you create classes or anything). so guys and girls behind the scene, YOU ROCK!
This is really amazing!
Really enjoyed this! hanks for sharing!
Deeply moving and gorgeous, as with all of your work. So glad you are right in the heart of Seattle! We are so lucky to have you.
I've heard of Cajuns using their kids swing sets to make "cochon de lait" in much the same way you hung the pigs. Looks like you had quite the feast.

As a home cook I'm overwhelmed and Thankful for the info & inspiration. The instructions per recipe make trying new things fun & exciting. I'm tempted to move just to be closer.
Hey guys, just wanted to say congratulations. This is absolutely fantastic. I hope you're ready for all of the internet traffic coming your way!
I don't have the words to describe just how particularly amazing this piece is (since virtually every piece on the site is amazing in multiple ways). This really touched my soul. Thank you ChefSteps for everything that you do, and thank you to each member of the team, it obviously takes a village to do this. It is why ChefSteps continues to be one of the absolute best web experiences out there for those of us who love food and cooking. You continue to inspire us every day.
Many thanks, Angela!
Every single member of this team is what makes the whole thing absolutely amazing to listen to, to watch, to enjoy. I love the spirit of this company!
AMAZING. I hope that one day I could attend to one of this festivities and kick with you guys all day.
So cool!! Congratulations with this movie; it is really great. Chefsteps has exactly the effect that you describe: you push me into the kitchen to experiment, greatly enjoy cooking and find out a totally new way of cooking. So much inspiration in a great website. Thank you!!
Бесподобно!!!
Beautiful and inspirational. As always.
Great content on the site, always enjoy visiting. I have gained a lot of great information and inspiration from your articles. I roasted a pig in my front yard this past weekend! Great fun and highly recommended. Here is a picture right after flipping it, having roasted for 3+ hours meat side down:
Thank you, Scott!
Wow, wow, wow!!!
Awesome.
Love this! and love that you always have a way of turning things on their side for a new perspective!
Wonderful inspiration and understanding to push ideas and concepts. Chefsteps can fill my soul and push me out the door to start the day at the restaurant. I know after seeing this video what to do for the clients this weekend.
Stor rus fra København DK!
What you guys are doing is really inspiring, thank you!
I've watched this video so many times. I tear up every time too. There is so much passion involved that it is beautifully overwhelming. Failure only comes in to play when you stop trying. Love, love, love this place.

I love this - reminds me of Francis Mallmann. What's the next big project?

You guys(and everyone at ChefSteps) are unbelievable! In an awesome, amazing, inspiring way. Wish I lived right there! And those photographs? Absolutely beautiful! Watching your stories was the best half hour I've spent this week.
