Mac Os support?
Michael_Kim_257130
I just lost my phone T^T So I can't use Joule at the moment
I was wondering if there could be some way to control joule with my mac? (possibly an app for Mac or maybe a web-driven way to control joule?) any ideas?

You will need the Joule app
and
either a smartphone (
iPhone or android equivalent
) or a tablet (
iPad or android equivalent
) or iPod Touch to control Joule. The Joule app only runs on either iOS or android. Neither of these operating systems will work on a computer. Your Mac runs on macOS (
formally called OS X
). You would need to search for a program that would allow iOS to run on macOS. I am not aware of any, but you're free to search. ChefSteps will be coming out with a way to control Joule via the Internet in the future, but there is no timetable for when that feature will be available.

Right on. Yeah, I was thinking about how there really isn't any reason why joule couldn't be controlled with a computer, or why it exclusively has to be done via smartphone or tablet, except for the software. Good to hear that it will be developed into controlling joule via internet

There is basic functionality with Amazon Alexa and Echo Dot, you can set the temperature, check the temperature and stop Joule. Another idea in the mean time would be to install the Joule app on a friends/family device and sign in with your account and they would then have WiFi connection through their device until you get a new phone, the WiFi and Bluetooth pairing connections are maintained in your account on ChefSteps servers. This also makes it so that you only have to pair Joule to one device and you will have connectivity on all your devices that are signed into the same account on the Joule app. Just remember to sign out of the app or even delete it or they could control your Joule once you have a device again. Not convenient but it work.
