Piece of Junk

It will not stay connected to wi-fi, power would not stay on (I had to unplug it to reset it), and the correct temperature did not register. After 3 hours of trying to get it to work, I plugged in my trusty Poly Science unit.

I think you will find it IS NOT a "piece of junk" If you simply contact Chef Steps directly you will find them incredibly responsive in resolving your problems...have you made such an attempt?

I think that it's less expensive to post that your Poly Science Unit is much better than the Joule, than to pay advertisement fees to Chefsteps promoting Poly Science. The best case scenario for you is that your are the kind of person that throws a fit at a restaurant for your bread not being delivered quick enough and demand that their whole meal be taken care of instead of politely asking "can we please get some bread" and solve the problem with out a scene.

I'm not being a dick. I am being factual. There are many ways that could have been handled and Diane chose the worst route. I have lived long enough to know that there is a good chance she may have received a bad unit but I also know that if she just reached out to Chefsteps they would have made the situation good.

The question I have for you is are you planning on attacking me every time I write something you don't agree with just because I poked a little fun at you?

I sent CS a detailed list of my issues. They responded promptly and replaced my Joule. The new one works perfectly and i like the app interface. Thanks Ellen at ChefSteps.
