Popping candy in desserts

i remember seeing a recipe where popping candy was coated in something before being put in a wet mix that prevented it from popping. Does anyone know how to do it? I'm looking to put it in a torte

I believe it can be put into an oil.

I've used popping candy before. It's pretty fun! Be careful of the ambient humidity. It will destroy it if you let it sit too long.

find yourself some coco butter and melt just enough to liquefy it, dip your popping candy and let cool. They should be waterproof. I use that technique with meringue as well, I needed to stuff them in ice cream, without they ended up soggy, with the coco butter they stayed crispy.
