Today is the first experiment with starting Joule remotely. Last night I took two frozen chicken breasts and vacuum bagged them with olive oil and basil. I put them back in the freezer until morning.
This morning, I filled my 15L Cambro with icewater, plugged in Joule and popped the bagged (still frozen) chicken into the water, then headed to work.
At 12:45 I logged in to the app. It took a couple tries to connect, but I finally got acknowledgement that Joule was operating, and the water temp was still at 41 F. I set the temp for 149 F and hit Go.
It's 2:05 and I just got the notification that we're up to temp. So far, so good. I have noticed a few connectivity issues--if the Joule app is in the foreground everything is fine, but if another app is in the foreground, or if the phone is powered off, I get the "You are disconnected from Joule" message. Reconnecting is quick, and the cook is still in progress.
I'll update with results this evening.
