A Good Read

I just picked up Sous Vide At Home by Lisa Fetterman! Although I have not tried any of the recipes yet it look great and has a lot of interesting ideas. Does anybody have this book and what did you try? What books on Sous Vide cooking have you bought and what was your favorite recipe?

"Sous Vide for the Home Cook" by Douglas E. Baldwin. IMHO is a must have. It contains what most consider to be the definitive charts and tables for cooking sous vide.

I took a look at it on Amazon. Of course my view was limited to what Amazon/publisher/author want a potential buyer to see, but my first impression is that the photo's are awesome. The content I read was ok but nothing I haven't seen either on CS and a few other sites and books. Again, my view was limited but still I was left with one question: would I plop down nearly $30 for this tome? Most likely not. Only because there are so many resources out there that another cookbook on the shelf would be just that....another cookbook on the shelf.

Totally agree. I have another sous vide book by a very well known chef. I have it on my bookshelf collecting dust, don't get me wrong it is has gorgeous photography. In my defense it was a gift, lol.

She's the founder of Nomiku so makes sense for her to publish a book with approchable dishes.

I read her mini-bio on Amazon. Yeah, it all ties together as to why she would publish a sv book. And as SV becomes more popular....dare I say mainstream?....there's not a doubt in my mind that there will be 100+ more out there in the months to come.

Jason Logsdon has a number of SV and modernist books on Amazon. Most are soft cover and affordable ...

If you don't have Modernist Cuisine at Home, you should get it immediately.
