One of these is in the future. Is it the 215/oil or the 210 vacmaster? Home use.

I have looked at the same thing. Just waiting to have the funds to buy one. There have been other things to buy (like Joule) which has delayed my purchase
I think part of the answer comes down to how much you would be using it. The 215 is made for more "continuous" use per the Vacmaster website. Not clear at what point this occurs. It might be the number of times or a period of time. I would recommend calling their customer support just to see what they might have to say.
I like the 210 as there would be no oil to change. I don't change the oil in my car anyone and I know that it would be a hassle to change it in the 210. Not difficult, just a hassle. On the downside, I personally don't always trust some of the maintenance free stuff. Sometimes it is too good to be true and I really don't know anything on this. Customer support might have an idea on the life expectancy of their dry pump.
The 215 does come with oil so that is nice. They do have videos on their website showing how to change the oil and really anyone could do it. You change the oil after 25 hours of use and then every 60 hours (or as needed) per their FAQ. You would probably have to keep track of this yourself or periodically look at the oil gauge which involves taking off the back cover which comes back to my point of being a hassle. There is enough oil to do about 5 oil changes before you would have to buy new oil. That being said, I think the 215 is probably the better way to go. I personally would have a little more confidence in the longevity of the 215 with "proper maintenance." I would look at it that it would likely be the first and last vacuum sealer that I would every buy. I believe it is also the one that Chefsteps has recommended.
Not sure if any of this helps, but good luck with your decision!

Yes I agree with what you say.. all important points. I have a woodshop and also have industrial sewing machines so I'm not averse to maintenance... yup 215.. unless somebody chimes in with something like pump problems or such.
Detailed reply, thanks Tim!

I have a VP215 and really like it. The oil is very easy to change only takes a few minutes. First change as Tim mentioned is after 25 hours of use or about 250 uses and every 60 hours after that or about 700 uses, only takes 3 ounces. The oil vacuum supposedly can creat a bit more negative vacuum (more vacuum force) but is totally variable for the amount you want. The 210 and the 215 are the same size, so I wouldn't think one over the other would be considered for home use.
@Max_Foster_18996
has a 210 so I hope he can tell you about his experience with his. BTW: Unless Ary Inc runs a great deal for Black Friday. Webstaurant.com has a better price with free shipping, mine arrived in one day.

I had to replace a pump after 6 years of abuse, I got excellent support from ARY, they guided me through the repair, I think I admittedly got a bit of a lemon pump - material fatigue, the new pump connection seems far sturdier.

Spot on JF, I love mine too. As you suggest, I got mine from Webrestaurant.com

Anyone have hands on experience with the VP112 vs VP120, aside from the obvious differences. I know these aren't as nice as those with an oil pump... but if you had to choose between VP112 and the VP120?

There's a Volrath mirage in one of those drawers 😊

Nice, I have a cheap induction but at least I have one, lol!

Well done! You're gonna love it!

Thanks Jack! Curious did you get a roll of foam tape with yours.. very thin closed cel foam? If so what's it for? Can't see any mention of it in the manual.
Jack_Mayer_85396
P, it was so long ago I'm not sure. Give WebRestaurant a call and ask them. They have been really great to deal with. Maybe
@John_Fisher_218893
can help, he has the same machine we do ...
pd3ski_278514
Jack.. I just found, inside the package of vac bags they supply of all places, a reference to the tape for maintenance purposes. Really should have been in the user manual... oh well
Thanks -porter

I actually called them because it isn't very clear. The foam is to attach the sealing bar to the lid. I still have mine but never have needed it. Nice they give you supplies for just in case.
pd3ski_278514
Yeah the included items page that I found in the included bags merely listed it and mentioned future maintenance.. nothing else. Ok I now know... thanks for clearing that up I was looking all around trying to see where it might go! Yeah they really know how to start a customer off on the right foot... errr .. both feet! Thanks again
