I love using the Joule every day for one thing or another. It's splendid most of the time. I've used Supreme and Anova in past years, but Joule has them beat by a good margin. But one thing has been happening. I tried to cook some carrots at 185 and Joule shut off after a while because it overheated. The I did various meats at around 130 with no problems. But tonight I did some eggs at the recommended 195 and, again, it shut off because of overheating. I liked Joule so much I bought a second one so I could do meat for several days, but also have one available for short-duration stuff like vegetables. But when my second unit gets here Wednesday, I'm going to try eggs again and see if it, too, can't manage 195...Then I'll know if my unit is defective, or if Joule is just not able to go to higher temps...
Still a fan, but do I have to switch to my Anova for higher temps?
