HI people,

Just wanted to share my new sashimi/fish blade with you.

Its 25-cm long and chiseled. Stainless/iron sandwich. Walnut wood. Made by a small Black Smith here down in South of France after a drawing I made.

Needless to say it is samourai sharp...

No idea which steel he used, but certainly not a Japanese one. Just a good steel he uses for his knives. I can ask him. I'll take a pic of the ura in the coming days.

Hi Francois thanks for getting back. There's plenty of Japanese smiths that don't use steel from Japan in fact some of the most desired stuff comes from the glory days of English melting pots. Lots of vey high quality Swedish steel used there as well.
