Controlling multiple Joules

Has anyone heard about progress on the app that would allow control of 2 Joules at the same time from a single device?

They are working on it and anticipate it will be included in the next one or two iterations of the app. Can't be soon enough for a lot of us.

I gave an old Samsung S3 that's slaved to controlling streaming media in the house. So I'll probably task it with Joule duty, as well. Would be nice to be able to work both Joules.

While it's doable if you have two devices, it would be EXTREMELY convenient and easier to have multiple usage control on one handy tablet.
It's hard enough to keep track of these two rascals....

I love your Joules names! Mine are just 1 & 2...

Yep, I am just as creative...one and two, lol!

The third Joule I'll buy will be named 'Bob the Successor'. 😋

I put blue painters tape around one and called it JouleBlue.

How do I keep my iPhone from connecting to both of my Joules? I set it up so my iPad connects to one, and iPhone to the other, but it seems like since both are on wifi, my phone wants to connect to both. It has been quite a pain, turning off wifi/bluetooth to try to force a 1 to 1 connection. Not working out that way though. Will be happy when the Joule app can handle multiple devices.

You need to set up a second ChefSteps account and sign into the Joule app with the separate accounts. What is happening is that because you have both set up on the same account the app is getting confused as to which Joule you are trying to control via WiFi. The only other thing that you can do is to disconnect the WiFi and then un-pair from one Joule and then re-pair with the second.

I think that is the missing piece of info. I didn't realize I needed to sign into two different chefstep accounts. That makes sense now. Thanks for the insight!

No problem, happy I could help. I was having the same issues when I found out that is what ChefSteps recommended as the interim workaround.
