How does it do with the lateral "jostle" of a stand mixer going full bore on dense dough? I'd be worried it would just tip over.

Simple....I pick up the mixer from the lift and set it directly on the counter. And there isn't quite as much wobble as you would think. Still I err on the side of caution and if I know there is a tough noogie of a dough to deal with, I move it, It isn't difficult to do either since the mixer is right there. SO much less effort than picking it up from under the counter to move. Either way, keeping it on the platform or moving it to the counter, I've not had any issues. And at the end of the project it slides back under with great ease, leaving the counter top free.
