Induction cooktop w/Joule (A melty fiery mess?)

I haven't posted in awhile, life got in the way, but I did manage to get my two Joule's I preordered and I'm thrilled to death (I had 4 sous vide machines at one point...gifted some...now just down to 2.)

Okay so to my question!

Utilizing: Bosch 30" Induction Slide-in Range Benchmark HIIP054U.

Is it possible to heat my water to desired temp with the Joule either utilizing clip (Which I'm guessing would be okay) or magnetic bottom stuck to whatever induction ready pot I'm using? I'm afraid of melting the Joule when using induction at the same time.

Yes, I know the simple fix to this is just heat the water and then put Joule in, but I'm rather curious if the induction cooktop would transfer that energy to Joule, being attached to say a cast-iron pot, and melt/catch fire.

I'm curious enough to ask, but I'm not sure I want to test this theory out...hehe.

I searched the forum and I think it was asked, but not sure the answer was clear.

(Also well aware that I can simply put Joule in any container and have Joule heat to desired temp. This is simply a question about pre-heating water with Joule attached, plugged in, turned on or off.)

NO!! Just use joule in a pot on a trivet! You can use your hot water tap to help out. Joule heats water fast!!

Should be fine. Have done it with my induction to sleed up bringing it to high temps.

I have done something similar, however, i never have the immersion circulation in the vessel while heating it on the induction cooker. My concern would not be cooking, melting, or burning the immersion circulator. The induction cooker is only going to get as hot as you setup at. My concern would be the magnetic fields created by the induction cooker, and their effect on Joule. This would be a good question for ChefSteps to see if they have any data on what you're suggesting.

The bottom of the pot should absorb all magnetic field going "upwards", like a magnetic core.

However, electric currents created by the induction cooker in the pot might affect ungrounded electronics coming in contact with the water or the pot. E.g. my instant read thermometer sometimes does weird things when I insert it in the water while the stove is on high. Connecting the pot to protective earth makes all these issues disappear.

I suppose Joule is grounded properly, so it shouldn't be affected.

An induction stovetop can bring a pot of water to boil (100C) in 4 minutes - that's A LOT faster than a sous vide machine. Induction is way faster than any other conventional cooking appliance.

By all means, please do not use Joule on top of a cooktop, induction or not! You risk damaging Joule if you do so, and voiding your warranty.

Honestly, starting with hot tap water is better for several reasons: 1) it's potentially faster than using the cooktop and 2) you've already spent the energy required to heat that water and store it in your water heater (assuming you don't have on-demand). Starting with hot tap water is great!

As to utilizing hot tape water as a better option, I think you may have neglected that induction cooktops heat by orders of magnitude faster than gas or electrical ranges. Not terribly concerned of utilizing a couple minutes of electricity to bring water to temp.

Currently I bring water to temp with the induction cooktop, then simply pour the water into whatever size Cambro I'm using.

Warrantee aside, but I very much appreciate you relaying that, my analytical brain is more curious as to the actual technical engineers answer to this.

I'm assuming it's actually just fine, but the physics in me wants to know definitively that I won't some how create a blackhole and suck up the planet in an effort to make carne asada just a little bit faster. hehe.
