Last night my buddy and I cart all of our stuff to a friends house to cook a multi-course birthday dinner. We each have a Joule. We set them up side by side in two shallow pans to cook off some chawan mushi. We did not have wifi password, so each connected via blue tooth. Target temp = 80C. My joule would not heat past about 60C.
We did have some egg spillage into the bath. At one point I changed the water and started over. No luck...no heating past 60-ish. I then reconnected using wifi, once I got the password. No luck. Same situation.
We swapped pans...placed my Joule in the 80C pan, and his in my 60C pan...I set my Joule for 80C. The pan with my Joule cooled down.
This morning, at home, starting with 55C water, I set Joule set to 80C....feels like it is taking a long time to heat (should have timed it), but I just hit 80C. Could be my imagination. I'm using 3.5L water this morning...a roasting pan situation last night.
Any thoughts on what happened? Anyone using two Joules in close proximity (different owners...if that matters). This is the first problem I've encountered.
