Damn. I've been cooking a 48 hour chuck roast for tonight's Christmas dinner and sometime in the last 12 hours Joule unfortunately cut out. The water temp was sitting at 72 F when my friend texted me to say Joule was off so the meat is no bueno. Since it was a cheap chuck roast I'm not so bummed about the lost meat, but I'm disappointed that I didn't get the usual notification when Joule cut out. This was a major reason I got Joule despite already having an Anova which doesn't have failure notifications.
The roast has been cooking at my friend's house, where the meal is set to happen, so any number of things could have interrupted Joule. Too bad it's Christmas and stores are closed. I wish I could just pick up a few steaks somewhere to cook as a replacement.
Anyways I would like to know, has anyone else had a cook failure without receiving a notification?
