Vacuum sealing
shorewoodbill
Hi, I'm Bill from Naples, FL
When I vacuum seal something juicy I freeze it first so the juice doesn't compromise the seal, how do I do a steak when olive oil has been added so the olive oil doesn't get sucked up into the seal?

You could make olive oil ice cubes.
You could use less oil and place a folded paper towel inside the bag near the seal.
You could stop the vacuum and engage the sealing before the liquid reaches the opening.
You could avoid the problem by using zip lock bags.

Or use a chamber vacuum. I used an edge sealer for years, it works. Just stop the vacuum before, it helps with the bag hanging down over the edge of the counter and let gravity help.
