Joule won't heat

my Joule won't heat. Today is the first time I've plugged it in and nothing happens beyond the orange light blinking. Standard size 4 qt pot.

When you say "nothing" do you mean no circulation? Slowly blinking orange signifies water is heating. See the FAQ on the Joule portion of the ChefSteps site. Maybe run it through a cleaning cycle? I would also open a ticket from within the app. Customer service is an emphasis, you should get a quick response.

Try to unplug and plug back in, orange blinking light means power loss. If that doesn't work I would submit a service request, either in the Joule app or here "Submit a Request", upper right.

That happened to me. Sometimes after ~5 minutes it'd finally start up, sometimes it would just give up part way though heating/circulating, and sometimes it would work fine. I contacted chef steps and they sent a replacement next day.

This happened to me; I unplugged the Joule and waited about five minutes. Then it started up normally.
