Starting now, everywhere an ingredient is used in a recipe on ChefSteps, it is a link to an ingredient wiki page. Better yet, everyone in the community can edit and contribute to them!
Basic pages are already up for each ingredient, with information about what recipes it is used in, what other ingredients it is commonly used with, and (sometimes) where you can purchase it online. When you click the Edit button - now you can add any information about the ingredient: how it is used, where it is from, substitutions, weight, etc. It's your opportunity to share knowledge, or help out the community with research, tagging, or even photography.
To get you all going, we are throwing a little contest. The first three people to add some reasonable amount of info (which I'll define loosely - any non-jokey attempt at contributing will count) to five ingredient pages will get free enrollment in our next paid class!
