WHAT:
Combined Account of Breville+ and StudioPass content / accounts under single login to view content via ChefSteps website
PROBLEMS SOLVED:
(i) Currently as a StudioPass member I have one account I use on the ChefSteps website to see content and another account I used for accessing content for a Breville+ app other content.
(ii) Multiple places to see what amounts to subscription based content can be combined into users single preference
(iii) Breville+ content on an iOS/Android screen is limited screen layout of mobile device, StudioPass access via computer allows for content to be viewed on larger display (example, I have a 7" screen on my phone and 30" display on my computer and would rather read things on the computer before trying to work from a phone)
(iv) Integration of ChefSteps scaling tool in to Breville+ content to better tailor recipes for either cooking for a larger or smaller amount of food
SUSPECTED ISSUES:
(i) It is understood this would most likely result in a rather large amount of dev work on the 'back end' and not as simple and just providing data from either endpoint.
(ii) Access to the Bluetooth driven feedback loop from the Breville+ app on a computer is a bigger dev problem to solve from a computer, but a proposal would be to limit device command and control to an app but allow content from a computer
(iii) Migrating and merging accounts is, for many, a real can of worms and pain for users to adapt two, but it is equally painful for needing multiple accounts for content.
BACKGROUND / HOW DID THIS BECOME A PROBLEM:
As Joule (circulator) user, I have been able to view content on the ChefSteps website and have a workflow I use that lets me read and use the computer to view videos, look at steps and ingredients on the PC and then - as needed - control the Joule via an app. When I migrated to a Hydro Pro unit, I continued my workflow, but no longer was using the app to control the Joule.
We just added a Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro to our kitchen. I had somehow expected that the data for the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro would populate in the ChefSteps website once the product was registered to my user account. I found this wasn't the case.
I do find there are a few things easier to control on the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro via the Breville+ app but in general I use the physical controls on the oven more than I keep the app running. But I do not access any of the content to take advantage of the library of recipes since I prefer to work on a computer over a phone screen.
I am far from an advanced cook, but I do have an interest in being a better cook and that's why I have taken advantage of the depth of ChefSteps content almost since the start of the website, and have been able to gain access to equipment (PolyScience Circulator, ControlFreak, etc...) to help me remove some of the experience based skills I don't have to still follow steps and learn. Access, at least for me, to all of the content to use with the equipment I have would be a win for me to use the computer as my information hub and not have to depend on an app.
