I imagine the CS team put some thought into the dual-forum decision - otherwise you wouldn't have done it that way. I get the convenience and draw-in power of the Disqus forums on the recipes themselves rather than having to sign up/locate forums for a recipe elsewhere on the site.
But after some time thinking about it, I'm advocating against it. The unwieldy and two-tier system, for me, just isn't worth the trouble.
No response necessary since I know you've put some thought into it - my motivation here is just to log the complaint.
