I like the look of the new community section. Here are the issues I've identified so far
1. Links should open in new tabs/windows if they leave the forum/community. Especially considering point 2
2. When I hit the "back" button on my browser, I should end up at the same place I was on the previous page. This is a common problem with scroll-based loading on sites (as you scroll down, more content loads) as opposed to page-based sites (page 1 of xx loads in its entirety, and you have to click on the next page to see more content).
3. The format. This is a forum, despite the name, but the format is that of an article-based discussion normally seen at the end of editorials, recipes, etc. First off, it's compressed, and takes a lot more scrolling to get through the content, since replies are displayed at a smaller width than the originating post. Then replies to replies are further indented, stretching the comment out further. Also, having a quote (reply to a reply) appear directly below the reply (as opposed to at the bottom of the comment list) means I have to scroll through the entire chain to see any new comments that aren't to the original post.
I applaud you for breaking away from the ubiquitous IP.Board solution for online discussions, that's no easy task.
