Seriously though,

I thought it would be a fantastic idea if users were able to be updated on tiers of their choosing:

- I.e. If I post a question on a recipe or in a forum, when a user sends a response, that I would be able to choose whether to access that directly or not via email, or at the very least have a notification of such.

- Another alternative would be the ability to tag a fellow user in order to posit a question, or create a remark, or simply notify them of the post in mind.

1. You can already do this! By clicking the follow button, you will receive both notifications in the top right of this website as well as email notifications when someone comments. By default you are following all your own posts.

2. We're hoping to rollout Facebook-style @ mentions sometime in the next few weeks. We agree this would be a really cool feature.

Is it possible to turn off the emails? I get enough spam emails and the little bell in the top right works for me.

You can disable notifications by clicking on the gear widget in the top right corner next to the bell. Click on it and select 'off' next to email notifications in community settings. It can also be accessed via this URL: http://www.chefsteps.com/forum/settings
