New Posts

when there are new comments in a post for me, is there a way to have those highlighted or put something like a star so the post, especially a long one, i can easily identify them. the programming would keep track of when i accessed the post and then next time i access it, the highlight would be gone of those.

Can you explain this a bit more? We already show if a comment is new since you last saw the post - do you want a way to not have the new indicator disappear?

when a thread has a new post, i do see the red new button. i click on it and the whole post opens up from the beginning. to get to the new post i got to remember the posts i read before and then scroll down to discover the new post. that is the way it works for me with firefox version 33.

what i would like is that when i click on the red button, the post shows and i can scroll down and easily find the new posts because they have some type of highlight like a light colored background.

here is an example. i clicked on question of the day #12. it has 74 comments with a new red button that says five for me. i click on the new button and i am taken to the first listed post on the top. when i scroll through the series of comments i don't know which ones are the five new posts within the 74 comments.

another bug. i created the question 12 link to the QOTD on the above post. i doubled checked that the url is correct but when i click on it, it goes to a can't find page.
