login problems

I've waited to post this possible bug, because it seems so unlikely. But I do have problems logging in and staying logged in. I input my e-mail and password; usually I get no error message, but I'm not logged in either (no change of userpic, still see the "sign in" button).

The only thing I've found that works - and this makes no sense to me - is logging in with a different browser than my most recent login. So I switch between safari and chrome.

This is not a great bug report, but there it is. It's been happening for at least... two months.

Thanks for the report, @T__2156. We'll definitely look into it. As it happens, we need to rebuild the backend of our login system anyhow to better support mobile, so that will likely resolve it in a few weeks if not sooner. (@Huy_63293 FYI.)

Fantastic, @Michael_Natkin_65602 and @Huy_63293 When I encounter it again (and I think I will, because the cause is an unexplained logout), I'll see if I can take better notes.

@Huy Login seems improved in the last week or two, at least using Chrome on OS X. I've mucked about with system software and nobody else seemed to have this problem, so it's just as likely my computer as it is CS.
