new post highlights

i visit the CS forum multiple times per day. i just love this website!

one of the cumbersome things is that when there are new posts on a thread i need to go through the whole list and see which ones i read last and which ones i did not. in a long thread that is cumbersome and sometimes i don't even bother.

i brought this up before. how about putting a light background color on those posts which are new to me so i can just scroll down and easily identify them? or put some other type of marker for identification. is this not doable?

There should be a blue vertical line to the left of the author's avatar of each new post.

I was gonna post about something similar to this as well. I enjoy going through the random posts in blue on the right, but sometimes I have a question about one of them. I'm not sure how to describe this, but it would be awesome if the last thread posted in went to the top of the list. I've been on many forums that do this and it just keeps the most recently posted threads current. If this does not make sense it's because I'm a girl and I'm blonde. Just ignore;)-

well, i totally did not get the symbolic meaning of the blue line next to the avatar. i must have seen it but assumed it was part of the avatar.

now that you have pointed it out there is sometimes no line, sometimes there is a blue line, and sometimes there is a red line.
