Button to mark spam?

Is it possible to get a button to mark posts as spam? If a certain number of users mark it, it auto deletes. This would definitely help clear some of the irrelevant posts, and would take care of the admins not having to delete these posts manually.

We agree, spam filtering is badly needed. The issue is that this forum was custom built by a team that is no longer at ChefSteps and we are so busy with other projects that we have limited time to improve it. We are considering moving the forum back to a well-supported system that has spam filtering and other features built in, but if we don't do that maybe we can at least take on this one feature. In the meantime, feel free to send links to spam posts to info@chefsteps.com and we'll take care of them.

If you are all too busy (and I'm happy you are busy)...How about granting a couple of long-time members that are here frequently accounts that can remove spam/spam accounts? Even as a temporary solution. I'm sure there are a couple of people we could all get behind.

That's a possibility; let me see if we have the ability to give some folks admin on the forum without granting overly wide privileges for other parts of the site.
