i'm tired of seeing this post

i'm tired of continuously seeing the ceasar salad post as the first post in the 'hot' section. i want to see something new there more frequently. i don't click on 'hot' because i know what i will see.

how about different sections like 'hot' this week or 'hot' this past month?

Kidding aside, I don't think that the 'hot' algorithm was ever fully functional. Personally, I'd like to have the new tab continue to show posting in chronoligical order, and a 'hot' tab that allowed posts to be bumped to the top whenever there was a new like or comment in that thread - similar to the way the old forum thread listing functioned. Better yet, posts wouldn't show up in the hot thread until they were at least out of the top 10 in the chronological listing. For my purposes, this would make the hot thread much more functional, as I think old threads often get lost and this could help bring some life back to those threads that get buried deep in the forum. I know the ChefSteps team is always looking for input, and I think this would be a nice improvement, but is likely a matter of resources to work on forum improvements vs. other priorities. @Michael Natkin (not sure who else to pass these on to anymore)

The "hot" thing basically just doesn't work well; we recommend using "New" until we replace this forum software.

I agree, I'd suggest having four catagories like "Top, Best, New, Old", which seems to work for other forums...

Don't suppose you guys could make "New" the default view? I'm hoping it would be a quick task that would make the situation much nicer while we wait for the new forum software would be ready.
