Can we sticky posts?
pgcath
A couple of well updated sticky posts at the top of the Joule forum would probably help on the churn of questions there about dates, and also keep the responses curated and productive.
Just thinking out loud...

It was a good idea.....And could cute down on repeating the same information repeatedly.

It definitely is a good idea, and I've been wishing for it a lot lately for exactly that reason. Sadly, this custom forum doesn't have it and I don't know that we'll have time to develop it soon. In a lot of ways I'd rather just migrate us back to a standard, well supported forum system. Anyone have strong feelings about that?

My strong feelings are, "Yes. Absolutely. Move to a standard forum system."
Although I love the forums here - and they are slick and mobile friendly - they're lacking organization features like pinned or sticky posts, solid threading, direct mail or PMs, and good mod tools. I honestly think that all of those things are contributing to churn and misunderstandings about Joule.
Since CS is a startup and all of your resources are oversubscribed, I think your resources are better served by migrating to something that you don't have to develop actively, while you're focusing on Joule launch.

Strongly agree, people make a forum. I'll happily take less slick looking for more features.

I am all for it, with the majority of resources being focused elsewhere at the present, it would most definitely improved the structure and content of the forum. The forum is what keeps me coming back every day, it is an underutilized asset, and with more and more people being pushed to the forum to find out any new information regarding Joule it will only get worse. Yes, please strongly consider a standard well supported forum system.
