BREAD Catagory

I know the CS team are like a humming hive of busy bees as they continue to ship out Joule to their customers. That being said, if anyone there does have a moment, I think it would be nice to have "Bread" added to the list of categories. It would help keep bread recipes, techniques, etc from getting lost in the shuffle of oh, say the 'Recipes' category or the 'Everything Else' section. I mean, who wouldn't want to make a tray of burger buns to place your Joule'd burger on!?

I agree with this, especially in light of the fact that the Modernist team is coming out with the Bread compendium, a bread or at least a baking section would be a welcome addition.

Every morning I look over to the 'topics' section hoping to see a Bread or Baking category.

Byrdie after they get the preorders out they might have time to address this request. But until then I have an idea.... Put #bread in your post and then we can search them and all the posts with that hash tag will come up.

I really hope they take you up on this suggestion. A while back, I decided that I would only make sourdough bread with freshly ground flour. While I've gotten some really tasty results, I just can't get the texture that I want (understood that it will not be bread flour texture). I know it is possible but just can't seem to get the right technique. I suspect that I could learn so much from the amazing amount of knowledge in this community.

I've never used freshly ground flour before so I have no idea what it would do/could do. And not knowing what kind of texture/crumb you're looking for, I have no doubt that the many excellent bakers that are in the walls of these hallowed forums could kick up your game a notch or two. Mine as well! There's always something new to learn every single day.
